Blow Bars for Impact Crushers | up to 1–1.5x Performanc

PAJOA supplies blow bars for horizontal shaft impact crushers, with material solutions designed for different feed sizes, abrasion levels, and impact conditions. Our product strategy follows the market-standard logic of matching metallurgy to application, because blow bar performance depends on the right material selection, not just the casting itself.

What Is a Blow Bar

A blow bar is one of the main wear parts in a horizontal shaft impact crusher. Installed in the rotor, it strikes incoming material at high speed and directly affects reduction ratio, wear life, output stability, and operating cost.

Because crushing conditions vary from recycled concrete to limestone and natural stone, no single alloy is ideal for every job. That is why leading supplier pages emphasize metallurgy selection, wear profile, and application matching, and PAJOA should follow the same structure on the page.

Main Materials Used for Blow Bars

Звезда вашего проекта
Main Materials Used for Blow Bars
Very tough material with strong impact resistance, suitable for heavy impact conditions.
мартенситная сталь
Balanced hardness and impact resistance, less prone to cracking than high chrome.
High chrome Iron blow bars
Very high hardness and wear resistance, ideal where abrasion resistance is more important than extreme toughness.
Вставки TIC / Керамические стержни
further enhance wear resistance beyond conventional alloys for demanding applications.

Selection Guide

Material familyAvailable grades / Material numbersKey characteristicsRecommended applicationsNot recommended for
Высокомарганцевая сталь Best for high impact and very large feed size.
MC13 / Mn13Cr2 MC18 / Mn18Cr2
Ref. standards: GX120MnCr13-2, GX120MnCr17-2 (ISO 13521)
Very tough with excellent impact resistance. Work-hardens under heavy impact, improving wear performance as the surface hardens in service.
  • High impact applications
  • Very large feed size
  • Construction & demolition waste
  • Blasted limestone
  • Highly abrasive material with low impact
  • Applications where wear becomes too fast
Martensitic alloy steel Balanced option for impact and abrasion.
1440NA 983 (7A)
Ref. standards: ASTM (martensitic alloy steel)
Good balance of hardness and impact resistance, with lower breakage risk than high chromium cast iron. Longer wear life than manganese steel in abrasive materials.
  • Construction waste
  • Blasted limestone
  • Very large feed size
  • Mixed impact and abrasion duties
  • Very low impact conditions
  • Light abrasion duty where lower-cost grades are sufficient
Martensitic steel with ceramic inlay Premium wear life for clean abrasive feed.
1440NC Ceramic-insert type
Ref. standards: Proprietary ceramic-insert martensitic grades
Martensitic steel matrix with ceramic inserts in the wear zones. Typically provides 2–4× wear life versus single-alloy blow bars in suitable applications.
  • Recycling of low-iron construction waste
  • Concrete
  • Natural stone
  • High-abrasion applications with limited uncrushables
  • Feed with heavy uncrushable metal
  • High risk of edge chipping
Martensitic steel with TiC inserts Reinforced wear zones for longer service life.
TiC insert type PA-MST-TiC
Ref. standards: Proprietary TiC-reinforced martensitic grades
Martensitic body reinforced with TiC in high-wear areas. Longer wear life than standard martensitic steel, with lower breakage risk than pure high chrome cast iron.
  • High-abrasion materials
  • Moderate to high impact
  • Concrete and natural stone
  • Quarry applications
  • Feed with rebars, iron or steel pieces
  • Very low-wear applications (limited cost benefit)
High chromium cast iron Maximum abrasion resistance for smaller feed.
HC13 HC20 HC27
HC13 → EN-GJN-HV600 (XCr11), EN-JN3 029, EN 12513
HC20 → EN-GJN-HV600 (XCr18), EN-JN3 039, EN 12513
HC27 → EN-GJN-HV600 (XCr23), EN-JN3 049, EN 12513
Very high hardness and wear resistance. Ideal when manganese and martensitic steels wear too fast due to abrasion.
  • Secondary crushing
  • Natural stone and river gravel
  • Small feed size
  • Abrasion-dominant applications
  • Very high impact applications
  • Large feed with uncrushable objects
  • High risk of brittle fracture
