At PAJOA, we don’t just supply jaw plates — we deliver tailored wear solutions. Whether you're looking for one-to-one replacements for Metso®, Sandvik®, or Extec® crushers, or need oversized, ultra-durable custom plates, we combine deep foundry expertise with precision fit to serve your most demanding crushing operations.
Before choosing the right jaw plate, it’s important to understand what it is, the types available, and what materials are most suitable for different crushing applications.
The plate in the jaw crusher is the wear surface of the machine. The component responsible for crushing the feed material. Mounted on both the fixed(stationary) and movable(moving) jaws, it applies compressive force to the rock. The repeated crushing process causes gradual wear, making replacement essential for performance and output.
Jaw crusher plates come in various profiles depending on the machine brand, feed characteristics, and application. Common profiles include:
Standard
Corrugated / Coarse Corrugated
Sharp Tooth / Super Grip / Super Tooth
Wide Tooth / Multi Tooth / Quarry Tooth
Heavy Duty / Ultra-Thick
Each profile is designed to optimize bite, throughput, or wear life under specific conditions.
Jaw plates are typically used in primary crushing and must withstand enormous impact while still offering resistance to abrasion. The ideal material needs to balance both toughness and wear resistance, reducing replacement frequency and minimizing crusher downtime. High manganese steel is the go-to choice for combining both properties effectively.
The most common jaw dies materials are casting high-manganese steels such as Mn13Cr2, Mn18Cr2, and Mn22Cr2.
For high-impact or highly abrasive conditions, additional reinforcement such as TIC inserts or ceramic backing may be used. Material selection depends on factors like feed hardness, impact frequency, and desired service life.
